Faith communities of all types usually invite their members to make a pledge or estimate of their giving for the upcoming financial year. You can use the contact form plugin or module on your website to create an online version of your form.
How to do this will vary, based on what plugin you use. Generally, you will create all the needed fields (input areas), and when a user fills out your form and clicks submit, an email is generated with all the data in it. This email can be set to send to one or more email addresses.
With some plug-ins, you have the option to save this data in the database of your website and export it into a file you can open with Excel or other spreadsheet software. We generally recommend this practice, so that individual emails are not somehow lost.
These online pledge forms can be created very simply, or include graphics and fancy layouts.
Here’s an example from St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Orinda, CA: ststephensorinda.org/pledge-online.
This form generates an email to the financial secretary with all the submitted information, but it would be easy to also have it stored in the website database and downloaded as an Excel file.
If you have your website with ACWP, contact us for access to the content form plugin, or to give you a bid on creating a form for you (usually for less than $50).
